The Cow Milk Marketers Association at Wanbai Market, Kano State, has reported a rise in daily sales to N200m. This increase in sales is attributed to the market's rehabilitation by the state government and the Islamic Development Bank.

The association has called on the government to ensure the completion of all 40 milk collection centres across the state. These centres will enhance storage capabilities and facilitate the exportation of their products.

Chairman of the association, Alhaji Muhammad Alaramma, stated that the state government's intervention through the State Agro-Pastoral Development Project, funded by the Islamic Development Bank, has significantly boosted sales. Members are now attracting customers from neighboring states.

Alaramma highlighted the donation of over 100 generating sets and 200 blending machines by the IsDB through the state government. These equipment were distributed to over 200 members of the association.

The completion of the milk collection centres will enable the storage of milk for international market sales. Alaramma emphasized the need for adequate storage facilities to reduce wastage and improve business operations.

With the centres fully operational, the businesses of over 20,000 members across the state are expected to benefit. The chairman also appealed to the state government for support in providing cooling vans for transportation.

Additionally, he called on the Islamic Development Bank to install solar power in the market to reduce expenses on diesel and petrol, further enhancing the market's sustainability.

The Cow Milk Marketers Association in Kano State reports a significant increase in daily sales to N200m after market rehabilitation by the state government and the Islamic Development Bank. The completion of milk collection centres is crucial for enhancing storage and export capabilities.
