Epic Games has promised to deliver high-quality games for free via its EGS Mobile app and the company appears to stay true to its word: You can grab Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 completely free via EGS Mobile until March 20, 2025. This offer is valid worldwide for Android users, while owners of an iOS device can only download the store from inside the European Union.
The KOTOR games rank among the best Star Wars video games of all time and even appear on many rankings for the best RPGs ever. Leaving the confines of the movies behind, both KOTOR games are set thousands of years before the Star Wars trilogies, which enabled them to embark on completely new adventures and break fresh ground for the franchise. A MMO spin-off called The Old Republic is still ongoing and continues some of the story threads and themes from the iconic RPGs. Originally released for PC, the games received mobile ports at the hands of Aspyr.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developer Saber Interactive has a remake of the original game for PC and PS5 in the works, though the project has suffered several setbacks during its development, so it's likely far from completion.
Alongside the two Star Wars games, the following titles have joined the EGS Mobile library in February 2025 so far:
- Cultist Simulator (Android and iOS)
- Figment 2: Creed Valley (Android and iOS)
- Machinarium (Android and iOS)
