Residents in these areas should stay informed of the latest weather updates and be prepared to take action if severe weather approaches. Have a plan in place for seeking shelter, such as a basement or interior room on the lowest level of your home. Keep a weather radio or smartphone handy to receive alerts and warnings. It's important to take these warnings seriously and not wait until the last minute to seek shelter. Tornadoes can develop quickly and without much warning, so being prepared ahead of time is key to staying safe during severe weather events. Remember to also secure outdoor furniture and objects that could become projectiles in strong winds. Stay indoors during the storm and wait until it has passed before venturing outside to assess any damage. Stay safe and stay informed during this period of severe weather risk.
