The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur strongly opposes the federal government's policy of expelling Afghan refugees from the province, stating that it is pushing them towards death. He criticized the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees, calling it an insult to humanity. Gandapur believes that Afghan refugees should be granted Pakistani citizenship instead of being dishonored and forcibly deported. He has attempted to initiate negotiations on the matter but has yet to receive a response from the Foreign and Interior ministries. Gandapur also raised concerns about being sidelined by the federal government and highlighted economic issues, such as the monthly loss of PKR 1 billion due to the closure of the Torkham border with Afghanistan. He urged the federal government to shift away from "failed" policies to ensure progress in the region.
