Jimmy Kimmel surprised Selena Gomez with a heartfelt engagement present on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. At the end of a lengthy conversation about Gomez’s work in Emilia Pérez and her experience at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Kimmel announced that he had a gift for her and fiancé Benny Blanco.
Surprise Gift from Jimmy Kimmel
“It’s not a traditional and it’s not necessarily a practical gift, but I think you and Benny are really going to enjoy it,” Kimmel said before placing a Daddy Saddle on his desk. “You can ride around on Benny in a very wholesome way. I don’t want you to think that anything is being suggested here that isn’t.”

Gomez’s recent engagement to Blanco came up several times during the interview, including a discussion about the Golden Globes, where she was nominated for both Emilia Pérez and Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
Martin Short's Playful Antics
She shared that her Murders co-star Martin Short tried to steal her ring at one point during the ceremony. Kimmel happened to have a video of that exact incident. Gomez noted that Short may not have been thrilled that Blanco didn’t call him to ask for permission before proposing to her.

Elsewhere in the interview, Gomez talked about spending the holidays with her and Blanco’s families in New York and her Christmas traditions, as well as the success of Emilia Pérez. She noted that the Netflix film, which won Best Picture, Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes, is “very hard to explain.”
