Howard Stern shares positive message from the iconic singer
Billy Joel wants his fans to know he is not dying, despite canceling the remainder of his shows following a brain disorder diagnosis. Howard Stern passed along the message to his SiriusXM listeners during his show on Tuesday. Stern revealed that during a recent dinner with Joel, the singer made it clear that he is not dying, but simply dealing with some medical issues.
Joel announced his show cancellations in late May, three months after collapsing while performing at Mohegan Sun Arena. The iconic "Piano Man" singer has been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, which has affected his hearing, vision, and balance. His medical team has advised him to undergo specific physical therapy and refrain from performing to focus on his recovery.
The cancellations impact a total of 17 scheduled stadium shows across England and North America. Despite the setback, Joel's wife, Alexis Roderick Joel, took to Instagram to express hope for his recovery and gratitude for the care and diagnosis he has received from doctors. She thanked fans for their love and support, emphasizing Joel's importance as a father and husband.
