Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured after an intruder attacked him with a knife at his Mumbai home in the early hours of Thursday, January 16, officials said.
What Happened At Saif's Home On January 16
Saif Ali Khan was asleep on the 11th floor of his Bandra (West) home in Mumbai, when he woke up to suspicious sounds. The incident took place around 2.30 AM on Thursday. Saif got up and confronted the intruder, and a scuffle broke out. The intruder stabbed Saif six times, and fled the scene. The Bandra Police received a call at 3 AM.
What Lilavati Hospital Said
Saif Ali Khan was rushed to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai at 3.30 AM. Saif Ali Khan suffered six stab wounds, with one of them being dangerously close to the spine. Saif underwent a 2.5-hour neurosurgery at Lilavati Hospital. A plastic surgery and repairing of wounds was also part of the medical procedures that Saif had to undergo at Lilavati Hospital. Saif is out of danger now, confirmed the hospital staff.
What The Police Said
An FIR has been launched at the Bandra Police Station against an intruder. Three attendants, who work at Saif Ali Khan's house, are being questioned by the police. The Mumbai Crime Branch has been tasked with a parallel investigation.

A statement from Saif Ali Khan's team said, "There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter." Kareena Kapoor's team confirmed that the rest of the family is doing fine.
