British alternative rock band Coldplay kicked off their final concert in India on Sunday at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, and left the crowd mesmerized with their energetic performance. While videos from the concert last night have taken over social media, one moment particularly stood out, and has won over fans’ hearts. In a display of compassion and concern for his audience, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was seen halting the concert mid-way to ensure the safety of a fan who seemed to be getting squished amidst the crowd.
During his performance at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, Chris Martin performed to the song ‘My Universe’. However, he stopped mid-way as soon as noticed a fan in distress. As the crowd surged forward, Chris noticed that a fan was getting squished. He swiftly intervened and made sure the situation was in control before resuming his performance once again. A video that has gone viral on social media shows Chris initially singing My Universe. There was immediate silence as he stopped the performance mid-way, even as the crowd continued singing. On noticing the fan in distress, he said, “Hold on, hold on. Hey, are you okay? Can you put her there so she is safe, please? You sit here, because it’s getting squished. Or just sit down there. That’s safer. My Universe again, please. I’m sorry. You stay there, you’re safe now. Okay, let’s go from the beginning. Please make sure you’re looking after each other. It’s very important.” He then sang ‘My Universe’ once again from the beginning, and left fans cheering for him.

Coldplay kicked off their Music Of The Spheres India tour in Mumbai on January 18. They performed at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19 and 21, followed by concerts in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26. Apart from Chris Martin the band also consists of guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer percussionist Will Champion, and manager Phil Harvey.
