Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan have announced they're expecting their first child together. The couple, who've been married for nine years, shared the joyous news on Instagram.
They shared a touching post featuring a photo of former Coronation Street star Michelle cradling her baby bump on the beach. They captioned it: "2025 is going to be a special one for us..."
This exciting announcement comes after Michelle previously expressed her frustration at constant 'sexist' questions about when she would start a family. Earlier this year, she said: "It’s horrible. People don’t know if we’re trying."
"They don’t know the background of what’s happening. In this day and age, you shouldn’t be asking questions like that. I’m asked purely because I’m a woman. But I’m immune to it now – it’s like a reaction, and as soon as I hear it I brush it off as it’s no one else’s business."
The couple's news was celebrated by their famous friends, including Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison who wrote: "Congratulations you gorgeous pair. So happy for you both."
Towie star James Argent added: "I love you and I’m so happy for you both, Your going to be amazing parents. I can’t wait to be a Uncle."
Mark and Michelle couple tied the knot at St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds in 2015 after first meeting behind the scenes at the X Factor. Michelle has since been filming around the globe with shows like Ten Pound Poms, and former TOWIE star is also busy with his career on Heart FM.
Despite their hectic schedules, the pair have always been open about their desire to have a large family. Back in 2018, Michelle told Women’s Health: "I've always been broody. I love kids, and I want four, so hopefully in the near future."
In 2019, Mark shared: "We say we're going to try [for a baby] every year but something comes up with work. So it'll be Michelle filming in South Africa and then I got the job in Los Angeles – so we think, right, we'll try next year."
He continued, discussing his ideal family size: "With kids, I used to want three or four. But now, I'm 31, we're not having kids any time before 32. I think we could have two or three. Twins would be great because you're getting two out of the way at once! ".
