Ram Charan’s latest film, Game Changer, produced by Dil Raju is struggling at the box office. The film, which hit theatres on January 10, has managed to earn not more than Rs 127 crore as of now. Amid all this, it has now been reported that the Telugu superstar has decided to take a pay cut for Dil Raju’s next movie.
As reported by India Today, Ram Charan decided to join hands with Dil Raju for another film to cover the losses of Game Changer. The actor is currently shooting for director Buchi Babu Sana’s RC 16 with Janhvi Kapoor. After wrapping up all of his shoot commitments, he will get back to Dil Raju and work on his next movie. Reportedly, Ram Charan has agreed to do this film with a lesser remuneration.
However, the exact details of Ram Charan’s fee and pay cut are not known as of now.
Talking about Game Changer, the film was made on a budget of Rs 450 crore. Besides Ram Charan, it also stars Kiara Advani, Anjali, and SJ Suryah in key roles. The film opened strong with Rs 51 crore net on its first day but saw a steady decline after that. It also faced the challenge of piracy as the film was leaked soon after its release. The competition from Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj and Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam added to the challenges. The film’s collection did not benefit from the festive season either.
News18 Showsha gave Game Changer a 2.5-star rating. “The biggest issue with Game Changer is things in it aren’t believable. It essentially is about an all-powerful minister who is unable to take on an IAS officer. While Mopidevi seems to be doing everything under the sun without anyone batting an eye, it is hard to believe an IAS officer is capable of putting up a fight. The same logical issue goes to the career of Ram Nandhan. One minute, he is a district collector, the next, he is the CM, and in another moment, he becomes the Chief Electoral officer. Wish Shankar had such variety in the film too,” a part of our review read.
