Ryan Whyte Maloney, best known for his appearance on “The Voice” Season 6, has tragically passed away at the age of 44. The singer died by suicide, as confirmed by the coroner in Clark County, Nevada. The news of his death was reported by People on Tuesday, citing a gunshot wound to the head as the cause of death.

Whyte Maloney was active on social media shortly before his passing, sharing a video on his Instagram story from a bar. In the video, he expressed excitement for a private party at Nine Fine Irishmen and mentioned they would be rocking out that night.

During his time on “The Voice” in 2014, Whyte Maloney impressed all four judges with his rendition of “Lights” by Journey. He joined Blake Shelton's team and eventually made it to the top 5 finalists. His performances on the show included covers of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” Rascal Flatts’ “Easy,” and Shinedown’s “Second Chance.”

Following his appearance on the competition series, Whyte Maloney continued to pursue his music career. He released singles such as “Don’t Put Me in a Box,” “Love With Nowhere to Go,” “Sleepwalk,” and “Toast To Tonight” in the following years. In addition to his solo work, he was also a songwriter for other artists and worked as a studio musician, engineer, and producer.

Throughout his career, Whyte Maloney shared the stage with notable artists such as Tim McGraw, Shakira, Usher, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and more. He also maintained a close relationship with Blake Shelton, performing at the country star's venue, Ole Red.
