Sofía Vergara and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton had the rumor mill swirling after they were spotted dining out for lunch in New York City earlier this week.
After photos of the Modern Family star, 52, and the professional driver, 40, enjoying a "two-hour lunch" made the rounds online (seen here via TMZ), fans were quick to speculate that the duo could be Hollywood's hottest new it-couple.
"Okay but the vibe here is giving ‘power couple in the making’ 👀🔥," wrote one X user. Another said, "NYC just got a whole lot cooler with them around."
Despite social media users hoping for a new A-list couple to obsess over, multiple reports suggested that the twosome dined out with a big group of friends, and that the outing was purely platonic.
Vergara was previously married to True Blood actor Joe Manganiello.
The former spouses were first romantically linked in 2014 and tied the knot in November the following year. Manganiello, 48, and the Hot Pursuit actress were married for more than seven years before announcing their split in July 2023.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said in a joint statement just days before Manganiello officially filed the paperwork. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Their divorce was finalized in April 2024.
