The much-awaited Thalapathy 69 has been officially titled Jana Nayagan. The first-look poster, featuring Vijay taking a selfie with over 100 people, has resonated with fans and sparked discussions due to its slight political overtones.

The film, directed by H. Vinoth, is confirmed to be a remake of Balakrishna’s 2023 blockbuster Bhagavanth Kesari, according to actor VTV Ganesh. In this version, Vijay is expected to play the guardian of Mamitha Biju, mirroring Balakrishna’s role as a guardian to Sree Leela in the original.

Starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, the movie also features Mamitha Biju, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Varalaxmi Sharathkumar, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N.K., the film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Initially planned for an October 2025 release, the makers are now aiming for a Pongal 2026 launch.

This project marks Vijay’s final film before he sets out on his political journey.
