On Thursday morning, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder who broke into his Mumbai residence, leaving the industry in shock. While expressing her concern for the actor, Urvashi Rautela, in an interview with ANI, drew criticism for flaunting her diamond ring during the conversation, which many felt was tone-deaf given the gravity of the situation.
When asked about the incident where Saif Ali Khan was stabbed, Urvashi remarked, “It is very unfortunate. Now Daaku Maharaaj has crossed ₹105 crore at the box office, and my mother gifted me this diamond-studded Rolex, while my father gifted me this mini watch on my finger, but we don’t feel confident wearing it outside openly. There is this insecurity that anybody can attack us. Whatever happened was very unfortunate.”
The video of her statement quickly went viral, drawing backlash from netizens. On Reddit, users criticized her comments, calling her out for being insensitive. One user wrote, “Urvashi just seems out of touch, seriously delusional kind.” Another commented, “So she just advertised to potential robbers that she has this really expensive watch.” A third user added, “Coming from Urvashi… it’s kinda expected… something off with this girl.” Another said, “Ignorance is bliss for her. Delulu is the new solulu.”
Meanwhile, Daaku Maharaaj, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Bobby Deol, has been a box office success, crossing ₹100 crore worldwide in just four days. Despite controversy over the song “Dabidi Dibidi,” featuring Urvashi Rautela, the action thriller continues to perform well. Directed by Bobby Kohli, the film also stars Shraddha Srinath and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
As for Saif Ali Khan, the actor suffered multiple injuries, including a serious wound near his spine and another on his neck. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries. Doctors have confirmed that Saif is now out of danger and recovering under observation. The incident has left fans and the Bollywood fraternity shaken, with many expressing their concern and outrage over the alarming burglary attempt.
