Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) has announced the crash test results of Mahindra's born electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6. Both electric vehicles have achieved five-star safety ratings for both adult and child occupant protection, exceeding expectations. The highest-spec variants of both SUVs were tested, but the safety ratings apply to all variants available in the Indian market.
Mahindra XEV 9e Crash Test Results
The Mahindra XEV 9e received a perfect five-star rating, scoring 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. It also scored 16 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) in deformable barrier and side movable deformable barrier tests. The vehicle received an "OK" rating for the side pole impact test. The variant tested came equipped with standard front and side airbags, with optional knee airbags available.
Mahindra BE 6 Crash Test Results
Similar to the XEV 9e, the Mahindra BE 6 also achieved a five-star safety rating. Scoring 31.97 out of 32 points for adult occupant crash safety and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant crash tests, the BE 6 is among the top-rated cars by BNCAP. Both the XEV 9e and BE 6 are based on Mahindra's INGLO platform and come with a range of safety features, including a Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, Heads-up Display (HUD), TPMS, blind view monitor, and seven airbags.

Both the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 electric SUVs are equipped with advanced safety features such as lane change assist, emergency steering assist, blind spot detection, cross traffic alert, front collision warning, and more. Additionally, they feature electronic brake booster, electronic parking brake, front fog lamps, cornering lamps, and auto booster lamps for enhanced safety on the road.
