The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has again extended the last date to apply for single girl child scholarship till February 8, 2025. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the scholarships and renewal on the official website: cbse.gov.in. It is advised to not wait till the last moment to register as candidates may face server issues and miss the deadline. Now, schools can verify the application information till February 15, 2025.
Previously, CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2024 registrations were extended till January 10, leaving candidates with more time to apply. The objective of CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents; and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with 70% or more marks and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII.
The scheme is aimed to recognise the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students. The number of scholarships for a particular year shall be variable and shall be awarded to all such "Single Girl Students" who have secured 70% or more marks in the CBSE Class X Examination in that year.
Who Can Apply for CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2024?
Check out the eligibility criteria for single girl child scholarship before registering: All Single Girl Students, who have secured 70% or more marks in CBSE Class X examination and are studying Class XI & XII in School (affiliated with CBSE) whose tuition fee is not more than Rs. 2,500/- p.m. are eligible. Their tuition fee in class XI & XII shall not be more than Rs. 3,000/- p.m.
NRI applicants of the Board are also eligible for the award. The tuition fee for the NRIs has been decided at a maximum of Rs. 6,000/- per month. The scholarship shall be awarded to Indian Nationals only. The student must continue her school studies in Class XI and XII in school.
