The much-awaited North Channel Bridge was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This bridge marks a significant milestone in the infrastructure development of Mumbai.

Starting from Monday, the Coastal Road will be open for vehicular traffic from 7 AM to 12 AM. This development is expected to have a positive impact on the daily commute of thousands of residents, reducing travel time between Bandra and Marine Drive significantly.
The new route will enable commuters to traverse the distance in just 10 minutes, as opposed to the previous travel time of nearly an hour during peak hours. This will not only ease congestion on existing roads but also enhance connectivity along the western coast of the city.
Benefits for Commuters
With the opening of the Coastal Road, commuters can look forward to a smoother and faster journey between two key points in Mumbai. The improved infrastructure will not only save time but also reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions due to shorter travel distances.
Future Development Plans
The inauguration of the North Channel Bridge is just the beginning of a series of infrastructure projects planned for Mumbai. The government aims to enhance connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and create a more sustainable urban environment for its residents.
