The day of love is here! The 14th of February is the perfect day to express and show your love to the one and only. But did you know that showing and expressing love on Valentine's Day has been practised throughout history?
During the Middle Ages, Valentine greetings were popular. The oldest known Valentine poem was written in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orléans, to his wife while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London following his capture at the Battle of Agincourt. The poem still exists and is part of the manuscript collection of the British Library in London, England.
It is also said that King Henry V hired a writer named John Lydgate to compose a Valentine note to Catherine of Valois. Well, this serves as an inspiration to send the perfect Valentine's Day message to your special someone!
