Sangli, Jun 12 (PTI) - A shocking case has emerged in Maharashtra's Sangli where a 27-year-old woman allegedly hacked her 53-year-old husband to death just two weeks after their wedding. The incident occurred in the Kupwad tehsil of Sangli district, causing a wave of concern in the community.
The victim, Anil Lokhande, was insistent on consummating the 15-day-old marriage, which led to a heated argument with his wife, Radhika. In a fit of rage, Radhika attacked Anil with an axe while he was asleep in bed, resulting in his tragic demise.
Authorities swiftly arrested Radhika and have charged her under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation into this heartbreaking case is ongoing as the community grapples with the shocking turn of events.
This incident comes in the wake of the high-profile murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon trip to Meghalaya. The police suspect foul play orchestrated by Raja's wife, Sonam, and her alleged lover, leading to a series of arrests in connection with the crime.
