After a gap of nearly eight years, the ICC Champions Trophy is set to make its return next month. The tournament will feature eight top teams from across the world including India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and host Pakistan. So far, six teams have announced their squads for the marquee event. India and Pakistan are expected to reveal their respective squads in the coming few days. The tournament gets underway from February 19 when Pakistan face New Zealand in Karachi. India start their campaign a day later against Bangladesh in Dubai.
The Indian team management is sweating over the fitness of their pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah who suffered back spasms towards the end of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this month. Rohit Sharma is likely to lead the squad, and the team will face England in a three-match ODI series right before the start of Champions Trophy.
The tournament will be held in Hybrid Model with India playing their matches in Dubai while the rest of the games across various venues in Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
