Former NFL linebacker Shane Ray has signed with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders for the upcoming season. Ray brings a wealth of experience from his time in the NFL, including a Super Bowl win with the Denver Broncos in 2016.

Ray had an impressive stint with the Broncos, recording 94 tackles, 14 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 49 games over four seasons. His performance in the Super Bowl victory over the Carolina Panthers showcased his ability to make an impact on the biggest stage.

After a brief stint with the Baltimore Ravens in 2019, Ray joined the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL in 2021. During his time with the Argos, he tallied 17 tackles and six sacks in 18 games over two seasons, under the guidance of current Roughriders head coach Corey Mace.

Despite being on the injured list during the Argos' Grey Cup win, Ray's talent and leadership were evident, leading to his return to the NFL in 2023. He spent time with the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans but did not see game action.

Now, Ray joins a formidable Roughriders defensive line that includes a mix of American and Canadian talent. With his experience and skill set, Ray is poised to make a significant impact on the team's defense in the upcoming season.
