New Delhi, Feb 3 (IANS) Gongadi Trisha, G Kamilini, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma, part of the Indian team that clinched the 2025 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, have been recognized for their outstanding performances by making it to the team of the tournament announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday.

The victorious Indian quartet has secured their spots in the team led by South Africa's Kayla Reyneke, who led her team to the runners-up position in the final at Bayuemas Oval on Sunday. Another standout player from South Africa, Jemma Botha, has also made it to the team of the tournament, along with fast-bowler Nthabiseng Nini who is selected as the 12th player.

Trisha emerged as the leading run-scorer of the competition, amassing 309 runs at the top of the order, including a remarkable century against Scotland. She was also named Player of the Match in the final after her impressive performance with both the ball and bat, contributing significantly to India's nine-wicket victory to retain their U19 World Cup title.

In addition to her stellar performance, Trisha had previously won the 2023 U19 World Cup with the Indian team and was honored with the Player of the Tournament award in the 2025 edition. Her opening partner Kamalini showcased her skills by scoring 143 runs in the tournament, forming a formidable opening duo for India.

Vaishnavi, a left-arm spinner, stood out as the top wicket-taker with 17 scalps, including a memorable hat-trick. Aayushi, another left-arm spinner, followed closely with 14 wickets to her name.

The team captain Kayla was recognized for her 11 wickets, while Jemma's impactful innings of 37 runs off 24 balls in the semi-final against Australia earned her a spot in the team. England's Davina Perrin and Katie Jones were also included for their contributions to the tournament.

The team of the tournament also features players from Australia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, showcasing the diverse talent on display during the competition. The complete lineup includes some of the best performers across different teams, highlighting the competitive spirit of the 2025 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
