Pakistan’s Test skipper, Shan Masood hit back against the media for their disrespectful questions after his side suffered a loss to the West Indies in the second Test that took place in Multan on Monday.

The skipper was not pleased to hear questions regarding his influence on the decision-making process and a journalist’s insistence that his information his correct, prompted the captain to deny these claims. Masood had no intentions of disrespecting the side’s governing body and went on to ignore such questions. But eventually, he responded by addressing the reporter and his disrespect in his questions.

“You have your opinion and I respect that but there is a lot of disrespect in your question,” Masood said.

“You can’t show disrespect to players, me and the others. We all play for Pakistan and get results but no one will tolerate such disrespect. You have to understand that. You want to put someone down fine but we all are Pakistan players,” he added.

As far as the key decisions being taken are concerned, Masood clarified that it is the Pakistan Cricket Board that makes the big calls and the players have accepted their decisions as well. He also called for some understanding and appreciation for his side that have been trying to do something different which proved to be successful in the past few games.

“Your question had too much disrespect. No one here will tolerate this.”

He also admitted that his side’s inability to clean up the tailenders ended up costing them the win. Gudakesh Motie’s half-century ended up being a vital contribution which gave the West Indies a big enough lead to defend. In the final innings, the Pakistan batters struggled against the spinners with Jomel Warrican finishing with a fifer to help them win the game and level the series.
