Indian men’s cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya were recently seen training together. In a video going viral on the internet, 37-year-old Rohit, who was horribly out of form in the recently concluded five-match Test series against Australia, can be seen batting under lights at Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai, and Hardik can be seen rolling his arms.

Rohit and Hardik are all set to be picked in India’s squad for the 2025 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9. In the eight-team ICC tournament, India will play its matches in Dubai. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to announce India’s squad for the Champions Trophy, which is making a comeback after eight years.

Rohit, who will lead India in the Champions Trophy 2025, trained with Mumbai’s Ranji team as well at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, January 14. However, it is still unclear whether he will take the field for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side in the team’s upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Elite Group A match against Jammu & Kashmir.

Mumbai will face J&K at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from January 23 to 26. Rohit last played a Ranji Trophy match for Mumbai in 2015 against Uttar Pradesh. While Rohit is yet to confirm his availability for the match, young Indian opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has made himself available. He is all set to open for Mumbai in the must-win match.

Hardik, on the other hand, is all set to join India’s T20I team in Kolkata this weekend to prepare for the upcoming five-match T20I series. The 31-year-old cricketer from Baroda, who played for the Krunal Pandya-led side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, was named in the 15-member squad for the home series on January 11.

The first T20I between India and England is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on January 22, and the next four matches will be played on January 25, 28, and 31 and February 2 in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai, respectively.
