PITTSBURGH — Important Blow for Padres as Tatis Jr. Suffers Injury

The Padres faced a setback as one of their key players, Fernando Tatis Jr., left the game on Friday night after being hit by a pitch. Tatis, the National League leader in batting average, sustained a welt on his left arm and had to exit the field in visible pain.

Fernando Tatis Jr., who leads the Padres in offensive stats, was struck by a fastball in the third inning. The impact caused swelling on his forearm, prompting him to leave the game immediately. There has been no official update on his condition from the team as of now.

Oscar Gonzalez substituted Tatis in right field after his departure. The Padres had been hopeful with the return of other injured players like Brandon Lockridge, Jackson Merrill, and Jake Cronenworth in recent games.
