Passengers Being Provided with Alternative Arrangements
Mumbai, Jun 18 (PTI) - Air India announced on Wednesday that it has cancelled its Lucknow-Mumbai flight scheduled for June 17 due to "operational reasons" and the ripple effect of flight diversions. Alternative arrangements are being made to fly the passengers to their destination, Lucknow, at the earliest, an Air India spokesperson said. This cancellation comes as a result of several factors affecting the airline's operations.
The affected flight, AI2491 from Mumbai to Lucknow, was grounded due to a combination of operational challenges. The airline cited the cascading impact of flight diversions caused by heavy rains in Delhi as one of the contributing reasons for the cancellation. Additionally, the delayed arrival of diverted flights led to the operating crew reaching their regulatory flight duty time limits, making it impossible to arrange replacement crew immediately.
In response to the inconvenience caused to passengers, Air India has taken steps to minimize the impact. Affected travelers have been provided with hotel accommodation to ensure their comfort during the delay. The airline has also offered full refunds on cancellations or complimentary rescheduling options to those passengers who choose to make use of them.
