Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 inch ginger
- 2 chilli, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ¾ tsp chilli powder
- ½ tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp peas
- 4 cups water
- 1½ cup rolled oats
- 2 tbsp coriander, chopped
Firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp ghee. Add 1 tsp cumin, 1 inch ginger, 2 chilli and sauté until they turn aromatic.
Add 1 onion, 1 bay leaf and sauté until the onion softens.
Now add 2 tomatoes, 1 tsp salt and cook till the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
Add 2 tbsp peas and 4 cups of water. Mix and bring the water to a boil. Add in 1½ cup rolled oats and mix well.
Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the oats soften completely. Add in 2 tbsp coriander and mix well.
Finally, enjoy the tomato oats with raita and pickle.
