PM Modi firmly rejects mediation on India-Pakistan issues during call with Donald Trump
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a telephonic call with President Donald Trump, reiterated India's strong stance on never accepting mediation on issues with Pakistan. The conversation, lasting over half an hour, included PM Modi briefing the US President on India's Operation Sindoor.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri highlighted that PM Modi clarified to President Trump that the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan, during Operation Sindoor, was not brokered by the US. Instead, the halt to military action was discussed directly between the two countries through existing channels.
PM Modi emphasized that India has never accepted mediation, does not accept it, and will never accept it. This stance has complete political unanimity in India. President Trump, during the call, expressed support for India's fight against terrorism and invited PM Modi to visit the US.
