Horrific Air India Flight Crash Near Ahmedabad Airport
In a horrific accident, an Air India flight crashed near the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday, with initial reports suggesting at least 242 passengers were onboard. The plane crashed immediately after takeoff from Ahmedabad.
A video of the incident when the plane crash took place surfaced on the internet. In the visuals, the Air India plane can be seen losing control in the air and then moving towards the ground, causing the crash.
A deadly fire erupted following the crash, leading to a thick layer of smoke rising from the ground. According to preliminary information, the aircraft went down near Meghaninagar, triggering panic in the area.
Civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu has reacted to the incident and said that he is shocked and devastated to learn about the flight crash in Ahmedabad.
Dozens of ambulances have arrived on the spot and some have taken away injured people to hospital. The police have diverted traffic from the area.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and assured assistance to the state.
Meanwhile, a green corridor is being arranged to carry injured passengers for treatment and to hospitals. “Instructions have also been given to ensure all treatment arrangements on priority,” Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said.
