Rajnath Singh labels Pakistan as "rogue" and "irresponsible" during Jammu and Kashmir visit
The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the need for Pakistan's nuclear arsenal to be brought under the surveillance of the UN agency. Singh, during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, condemned Pakistan as a "rogue" and "irresponsible" nation.
Singh's visit to Jammu and Kashmir marked the first since the tragic attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians, including a Nepali national, lost their lives in a terrorist attack.
Addressing troops in Srinagar, Singh praised Operation Sindoor, the Indian armed forces' counter-terror offensive launched on May 7 against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
"The success of Operation Sindoor has sent a clear message to terrorist organizations in Pakistan that they are not safe anywhere. They are now the focus of the Indian Armed Forces," Singh stated.
"India's stance against terrorism is unwavering, as demonstrated by our refusal to succumb to Pakistan's nuclear threats. The world witnessed Pakistan's irresponsible use of nuclear blackmail against India," the Minister asserted.
During his interaction with troops, Singh raised concerns about the safety of Pakistan's nuclear weapons and advocated for their monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
"I want to pose this question to the world: are nuclear weapons secure in the hands of Pakistan, a nation known for its rogue and irresponsible behavior?" Singh questioned.
The IAEA, an independent international organization under the UN, focuses on promoting the safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.
Singh also condemned the terrorists who targeted civilians in Pahalgam based on their religion, highlighting the Indian Armed Forces' response based on their actions. "Pakistan's actions were based on 'karma', and we responded in kind based on our 'Bharatiya dharma'," he added.
