The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) successfully deported Joginder Gyong, a wanted gangster, from the Philippines to Delhi through Bangkok. Gyong, who is wanted for criminal conspiracy and murder, was detained in Delhi where he faces charges by both Haryana and Delhi Police.
The Haryana Police had registered a criminal case against Gyong for his alleged involvement in a murder case. Gyong, who is an Interpol Red Notice Subject, is accused of planning and executing the murder of a victim who revealed the identity and location of his gangster brother to the police.
According to the CBI statement, Gyong has a history of criminal activities across various states in India, including robbery, murder, attempt to murder, extortion, and kidnapping for ransom. The agency, in coordination with Interpol, managed to get a Red Notice issued against Gyong, leading to his deportation from the Philippines to Delhi.
Since 2021, the CBI has been actively working with law enforcement agencies in India to bring back wanted criminals through Interpol channels. Gyong's deportation marks another successful operation in the fight against organized crime in the country.
