The external affairs ministry announced on Monday that foreign secretary Vikram Misri will be traveling to Beijing to attend a meeting under the foreign secretary-vice minister mechanism between India and China.
According to the ministry, the resumption of this bilateral mechanism is a result of an agreement at the leadership level to discuss the next steps for India-China relations, covering political, economic, and people-to-people aspects.
Vikram Misri is scheduled to be in Beijing for a two-day visit, starting on January 26 and concluding on January 27.
