Hyderabad: A day after announcing his decision to quit active politics, Vijayasai Reddy has submitted his resignation as a Rajya Sabha member. On Saturday, he met with Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and handed over his resignation letter.
Reddy, a close and trusted ally of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has also decided to resign from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). In a social media post on Friday, he revealed that he would be stepping down from active politics.
This development is seen as a major blow to YSRC, as Reddy has been a key figure in the party, closely associated with YS Jagan since its inception.
