GALLANTRY MEDALS
The Medal for Gallantry (GM) is awarded to Police Service-78 and Fire Service-17 personnel for acts of bravery in saving lives, preventing crimes, and arresting criminals.
Majority of the 95 Gallantry Awards are given to personnel from Left Wing Extremism affected areas, Jammu & Kashmir, North-East, and other regions.
SERVICE MEDALS
The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) are awarded to recognize exceptional and valuable service provided by the personnel.
Out of 101 PSM awards, 85 are for Police Service, 05 for Fire Service, 07 for Civil Defence & Home Guard Service, and 04 for Correctional Service.
