President Droupadi Murmu commended Armed Forces for success in fighting terrorism

On Wednesday, top military officials met with President Droupadi Murmu to provide a detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor and its outcomes. The delegation, led by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, included Chiefs of the Army, Air Force, and Navy.

The President praised the bravery and commitment of the Armed Forces in ensuring the success of India's response to terrorism. Operation Sindoor, which aimed at targeting terror hubs in Pakistan, commenced on May 7 and was temporarily halted on May 10 following Pakistan's request for a ceasefire.

Nine terror hubs in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan were targeted during the operation, resulting in the elimination of numerous dangerous terrorists. Notable locations such as LeT and JeM headquarters in Muridke and Bahawalpur, known for training terrorists responsible for attacks like Pulwama, were destroyed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the operation is currently on hold, but any future terrorist activities will be treated as acts of war. The decision to launch Operation Sindoor was prompted by the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists, including a Nepali, all of whom were targeted based on their religious beliefs.
