The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the implementation of a special crowd management plan called 'Operation Eleven' for the upcoming 'Amrit Snan' on Basant Panchami at Maha Kumbh. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday and strict measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and smooth movement of devotees.

Key Measures Under Operation Eleven

1. Strict enforcement of the one-way route: A one-way traffic system will be strictly enforced to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees. Additional police forces and barricades will be stationed at bathing ghats to regulate crowd movement.

2. Enhanced security at key locations: Security has been tightened at key locations with additional police units deployed to control traffic and ensure safety.

3. Special monitoring at Shastri Bridge: Additional security measures have been implemented at Shastri Bridge to regulate traffic flow and ensure the safety of pilgrims.

4. Crowd control at Tikarmafi Turn: Special arrangements have been made to manage crowds at Tikarmafi Turn and ensure smooth movement of traffic.

5. Special arrangements at Phaphamau and pontoon bridges: Enhanced security measures have been put in place at Phaphamau Bridge and pontoon bridges to monitor crowd movement effectively.

6. Railway stations and bus movement regulation: Measures have been taken to regulate train and bus movements to facilitate the transportation of pilgrims.

7. Special bus operations in Jhunsi: Temporary bus stations have been set up to provide smooth transport services to devotees traveling to Gorakhpur and Varanasi.

8. Enhanced security at Prayag Junction: Additional security forces have been deployed at Prayag Junction to control traffic and ensure the safety of pilgrims.

9. Crowd management at GT Jawahar and Harshvardhan Chauraha: Measures have been put in place to regulate traffic flow and guide pilgrims effectively to their destinations.

10. Additional security and traffic control measures: Extra forces have been deployed at sensitive locations to handle any emergencies effectively.

11. Deployment of extra forces: Additional Rapid Action Force (RAF) companies and PAC units have been deployed at key locations to ensure the safety of pilgrims and smooth movement of traffic.

The Maha Kumbh, hosted by the UP government, commenced on January 13 and will continue till February 26.
