Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared an increase in the number of troops in the northern region of the country following a meeting with the top military officials. According to preliminary assessments, the number of deployed and engaged North Korean troops in the Kurz Strait has dropped significantly, with only 3,000 soldiers remaining.

The meeting on December 23 saw the dismissal of Alexander Siskis, the head of the main staff of the Ukrainian armed forces, due to the operation in Kurz Strait.

"There are additional risks from the deployment of Russian forces and military supplies to North Korea, and this will be our top priority. Now, with the latest data, the number of deployed and engaged North Korean troops in the Kurz Strait has dropped significantly to 3,000 people," Zelensky emphasized.

Zelensky also pointed out the importance of the international community recognizing the destabilization risk on the Korean peninsula and the proportional growth of Moscow's influence in neighboring regions, especially in the Baltic and Finnish areas.

He also highlighted the distribution of experienced military personnel and military technologies from Russia as a global concern.
