India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025. Republic Day marks the occasion when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950. A total of 16 tableaux from states and Union territories, along with 15 from central ministries, departments, and organizations, will participate in the parade. These tableaux will represent India’s diverse cultures, landscapes, and achievements, highlighting the country’s rich heritage.
India will also showcase its cutting-edge defense technology, with the BrahMos, Pinaka, and Akash defense platforms set to make a prominent appearance. Additionally, the Army's Battle Surveillance System 'Sanjay' and DRDO's surface-to-surface tactical missile 'Pralay' will make their debut at the ceremonial parade, marking a significant step in India's military advancements.
Republic Day 2025 Parade
India will witness a grand parade at the Kartavya Path in the national capital. The theme of this year's Republic Day is "Swarnim Bharat - Virasat aur Vikas." The iconic parade at the Kartavya Path will commence at 10:30 AM on Sunday at Vijay Chowk, proceed along Kartavya Path, pass India Gate, and conclude at the Red Fort. The ceremony will conclude with a flypast by 47 aircraft, demonstrating India's aerial capabilities.
Who Is The Chief Guest For Republic Day 2025 Celebrations?
The special guest for this year's Republic Day celebrations is the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto. Subianto's visit will make him the fourth Indonesian president to attend India's Republic Day celebrations, following in the footsteps of Sukarno, Indonesia's first president, who was the chief guest at India's inaugural Republic Day in 1950. President Droupadi Murmu will hoist the Tricolour and address the nation on this historic occasion.
What's Special This Year?
More than 600 panchayat leaders have been invited by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj as special guests to witness the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path. These special guests have been selected for their outstanding contributions in the "saturation of beneficiaries" under various flagship schemes in their respective panchayats, the ministry said in a statement.
